A group of 15 balloons caused the interruption of flights at the Venice Airport “Marco Polo” on tuesday. The balloons, started from Dobbiaco, in the Dolomites, landed in the countryside near Monastier, Musile di Piave and Annone Veneto. They were engaged in a long distance race called “Dolomiti Balloofestival”.
Some of these were intercepted by radars of Venice Marco Polo and caused a short interruption of flights to and from the airport. Nobody had communicated the arrival of balloons to the italian authority Enac.
